Hardscape Design and Installation in Elko New Market, MN
Patios, walls, land clearing and driveway work for Elko New Market acreage
Equipment and crews sized for rural Scott County properties.
Serving Elko New Market Acreage Owners
Elko New Market sits at the rural edge of Scott County, where lots are measured in acres rather than square feet and a long gravel approach is normal. That changes what a hardscape project looks like. Stonewood Hardscapes & Design works these properties across the Elko and New Market sides of town, near the speedway and out toward Cedar Lake Township, handling everything from a stone patio off the walkout to clearing a wooded parcel for a new pole building.

What Rural Elko New Market Projects Involve
Long Drives and Culverts
A failing gravel approach is one of the most common calls here. Proper crown, ditch grading and a correctly sized culvert matter more than the surface material you finish with.
Agricultural and Till Soils
Much of the area was farmed, leaving topsoil over dense glacial till that drains slowly. Base depth and subgrade prep get adjusted for that instead of using a suburban standard.
Clearing Before Building
New homes and outbuildings on wooded acreage need trees dropped, stumps removed and a compacted pad set before any hardscape begins. We do that phase with our own equipment.
Well, Septic and Utility Locates
Rural lots carry private wells, septic fields and buried lines that rarely appear on a plat. We locate and mark before excavating so a patio does not end up over a drainfield.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about Nick and the team at Stonewood Landscaping. We had a really complicated project at our lake home with difficult access, retaining walls, extensive landscaping and a lot of moving parts. Nick made what could have been a very stressful project so much easier. He was always responsive, easy to communicate with and, most importantly, when something came up, he figured it out. I really appreciated that I could trust him to handle things and make sure they were done right. His crew was also amazing—hardworking, respectful of our property and they did beautiful work. After everything that went into this project, I’m so happy with how it turned out. I would recommend Nick and Stonewood without hesitation, especially for a project that is complicated or requires someone who knows what they’re doing. Nick went above and beyond for us and I’m grateful for everything he and his team did. Absolutely 5 stars!Posted on Google![]()

We had a great experience with Stonewood Hardscapes! Mike, Tyler, and the entire crew were so friendly, professional, and prompt during our shoreline and new sand beach project. Our backyard on a hill is now much more functional with a flat sand beach atea and the sturdy stone steps get us down to our beach and dock easily. We are so happy with the final result!Posted on Google![]()

Michael and his crew did a great job with the patio portion of our deck and patio we had put in and rock mulch around the house. Very high quality installation that looks great. This was a combo job with Outdoor Solutions, Inc. that did the deck and they worked together seamlessly to keep things moving. Both companies have great attention to detail and do the little things to really make it nice.Posted on Google![]()

Really liked working with Nick, Tyler and his crew on our Rip Rap project and fire pit area. They were friendly, accommodating and had helpful suggestions. They made quick work of our project and were frequently asking if we were satisfied with the results. Would definitely use them again.Posted on Google![]()

What a fantastic company!! 5 stars only because I can’t give them 6. Mike and his crew reconstructed my failing shoreline with large-boulder rip rap, installed natural stone steps to the water and stone edging to frame the yard, brought in lots of clean fill and topsoil, laid new sod (and watered it for me while I was gone !!) , wired in a lake pump with extra spigot, installed a 2-zone sprinkler system, AND built a little pump house that exactly matches my house to cover the pump assembly. Their work was impeccable and the project was completed on time. They even removed a lot of old material that I no longer needed, saving me some trips to the dump. Mike, Nick, Tyler, Zach, Zach, and Logan are a very hard-working and well-coordinated team…just great guys all-around. I could not be happier with this entire crew or the great job they did.Posted on Google![]()

Stonewood did a wonderful job on our landscaping. The scope of work extended from our house to the shoreline. Mike and Nick adapted our wishes to a difficult environment which included using a barge for the majority of the work. The crews were able to adapt our requests to the natural environment and simultaneously work within the requirements of the local government agencies. Mike and Nick were often on site and kept us informed as the work progressed. The end result is beautiful and we could not be happier. Thank you to the entire Stonewood crew who took our vision and created our spectacular landscape. Shawn & Kristy SchafferPosted on Google![]()

Mike and the great crew at Stonewood Hardscapes designed and installed a beautiful new entry for our home. They cleared out the 30 year old breaking bricks and removed the old overgrown flowers that only bloomed one week out of the summer. They put in new pavers, boulders and a water feature. It looks and feels so refreshed. It’s our favorite place to watch the sunset and listen to the waterfall. The lights add a special and inviting touch. If you want to refresh and renew your entry way give them a call. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. We drop and remove trees, grind or pull stumps, brush fence lines and grade the cleared area into a usable building pad or open yard space.
We regrade the base, restore the crown so water sheds to the ditch, replace or reset the culvert if needed and add fresh Class 5 to finish the surface.
Ground level patios generally do not, but retaining walls over four feet, driveway access changes and significant grading do. Rural parcels may also involve Scott County review.
Not if it is located first. We identify the tank, drainfield and any private utility lines before digging and design the layout to keep equipment and hardscape well clear.
Elko New Market is comfortably inside our regular service area, and we also work the surrounding townships in southern Scott County and western Dakota County.
